Form and function in Napa valley: modern and historic wineries are built on the same foundations

Article Abstract:

An overview of the architectural delights of a few of the hundreds of wineries dotting Napa valley, some being there since the beginning of wine in the valley as symbols of wine's prominence and endurance, each having a story to tell is presented. Despite modernizations with new set-ups, these wineries combining form with function work on the same old principles of transforming grapes into wine using gravity flow to move wine, with no better preposition coming up is discussed.
