Nut oils such as walnut, pecan, almond, filbert and pistachio can be mild and delicate, or highly flavorful, depending on the toasting process and harvest conditions. Most nut oils are high in healthy monounsaturates, like olive oil. They are good in both salads and hot dishes.

Grappa is an Italian brandy that is becoming popular and accessible in the US. The potent drink has been made in Italy for centuries. Currently many wineries make the drink. Fresh grapes are essential to making a successful grappa. The liquor is also made outside of Italy.
