Prices rise almost 8 percent at bellwether burgundy sale

The annual Hospices de Beaune charity wine auction on Nov 19, 1995, was a success, with sales of $2.7 million and prices for the 1995 burgundies up 7.8%. The event was held amid controversy over whether the wines should be estate-bottled to ensure their authenticity.

Burgundy prices stay high at 1999 Hospices Auction

Article Abstract:

The auction of Burgundy wines at the 1999 Hospices de Beaune achieved high prices in spite of a large grape harvest. Prices for red wines increased by 3% whereas prices for white wines decreased by 9% when compared to 1998 figures.

Burgundy price cuts

Article Abstract:

Burgundy producers experienced a drop in revenue in 1991, and several vintners have decreased prices in an effort to move the wines. Louis Latour dropped his prices and admitted that increases over recent years have been excessive.
