Solaia: the most impressive of Piero Antinori's fleet of Tuscan wines

Article Abstract:

Piero Antinori's love of fine wine shows in his vino da tavola, which is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. The first vintage of Solaia was produced in 1978, and excellent vintages include 1985, 1988 and 1990. About 5,000 cases a year are produced.
