Carrefour profits rise 26.2%

Carrefour of France, a retailer, reported profits up 26.2% to 972 million French francs in the first half of 1995, on turnover up 8.6% to 67.7 billion French francs. The rise is attributed to the company's successful international expansion programme and new product development. The company is keen to expand into the US .

Blue Square strong despite Israeli slump
