Taittinger makes new rose sparkler

Article Abstract:

A non-vintage Taittinger Brut Prestige Rose has been introduced by the renowned Champagne-maker. The new wine will be priced at $45, as compared with $118 for its vintage-dated Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rose. Demand for a less expensive sparkling rose prompted the new offering.

Laurent-Perrier makes new prestige bottling

Article Abstract:

Laurent-Perrier is introducing a prestige cuvee Champagne to the US. A 1985 Laurent-Perrier Grand Siecle Exceptionellement Millesime will sell for $75 a bottle. These prestige cuvees have not been marketed in the US before.

Bordeaux "super seconds" go to the head of the class

A description of the tasting of 1989 and 1995 vintages of wine from Bordeaux, France, is presented. The achievements of the Chateaus which are ranked second in the vintners classification system are discussed.
