Temperature and aging

Article Abstract:

Wine is temperature sensitive. It is recommended that wine be stored at about 55 degrees fahrenheit for best results. Chemical reactions occur within wine as it ages. The wrong temperature can set off these changes and cause the wine to age faster and develop less desirable traits.

Design for living: two California collectors turned their suburban living room into their dream cellar

Linda and George Weinstock converted their seldom-used 20-by-40-foot living room in their suburban Los Angeles home into a 6,000-bottle wine cellar. The couple had help from a wine merchant, interior designer and wine cellar builder.
