Tesco to open more city centre outlets under Metro fascia

Article Abstract:

Tesco of the UK, a major food retailer, is planning more city centre outlets bringing the total to about 100 by the end of 1996, from the current 21 outlets. Its Metro outlets have been successful for 'top-up' shopping, although many are used by customer for their weekly shop. Sainsbury has also converted some of its existing town centre outlets to Central stores.
