Unilever profits up despite detergent losses

Article Abstract:

Unilever, an Anglo-Dutch conglomerate has seen 1994 profits rise 20% on sales up 6%, with around half coming from its core food businesses. North American business profits rose, although European results were down mainly due to the unsuccessful power range of detergents. The company continued to expand into India, Japan, Latin America and South Africa, and it made acquisitions in France and Spain.

Unilever improves sales and profits despite currency worries

Article Abstract:

Unilever, an Anglo-Dutch conglomerate, has reported a rise in second quarter profit of 8%, on turnover up 5%. Good results in North America and Asia, offset the relatively flat European markets. However European sales improved steadily during the first half, although dairy products and edible oils markets fell.

Disappointing first quarter results for Unilever

The economic collapse in Russia has affected the profits of the conglomerate, Unilever. The company is, however, confident that it can re-establish its sales growth.
