Hirschfeld at age 92 is still active, creating his simple but dramatic line drawings of theater personalities and lately, great chefs. He has refined his art of the elegant line, and his work is in many museums. His trademark is to hide the name of his daughter Nina in his drawings.

Andre Soltner: toque of the town

Alsatian-born chef Andre Soltner has been creating exciting variations on haute cuisine classics at Lutece for some 30 years. Recipes are provided for several of Soltner's best dishes, including bass fillets on sauerkraut, apple tart, and frozen lemon souffle.
