Fat and cholesterol awareness
Article Abstract:
The American public has been warned on the ill-effects of cholesterol and fats in their diets. As a result, they are eating more fish and poultry and less red meats and fried foods. However, two surveys done by the Department of Agriculture show that dietary changes do not necessarily result in lower consumption of fats. The 'Dietary Guidelines for Americans' suggests that fat and saturated fat be limited to only 30% and 10% of total calories, respectively. However, three-fourths of the respondents in the surveys surpassed the limits for fat and saturated fat.
