Nutrition and Alzheimer's disease

Article Abstract:

Issues regarding the prevention of weight loss in Alzheimer's Disease patients are discussed. Weight loss is a common side effect in these patients and has a negative effect on their quality of life by increasing the risk of infections, skin ulcers and falls.

Species differences in the metabolism and regulation of gene expression by conjugated linoleic acid

Article Abstract:

Issues regarding the ability of conjugated linoleic acid to alter lipid metabolism and other nutritional effects are discussed. The extrapolation of rodent data as of possible relevance to humans is also discussed.
