ABC1: the gene for Tangier disease and beyond

Article Abstract:

Research presented concerns the relationship between lipoprotein metabolism and coronary heart disease, focusing on the mechanisms regulating plasma high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. A study of the genetic mutation that causes Tangier's disease may shed light on lipoprotein metabolism and reverse cholesterol transport.
