The divine Schwein

German cookery is meat-based and no other meat is as visible as pork. In fact, pigs are pervasive in German culture and inspire not only dishes, but also adjectives, expressions, insults and public sculptures. Some staples of German cuisine are the pork-based Schweinepfeffer and Leberknodel.
