Takeout Chinese food, sushi or chicken from a good restaurant can provide a good alternative to cooking for guests. Grocery stores often serve good, fully cooked roasted chickens. Dessert recipes for almond biscotti and Irish coffee ice cream torte are given.

The big orange

Oranges were considered a delicacy and an aphrodisiac in many Northern European countries during the 17th century. They were not as sweet as they are today, and were sold as treats to theater patrons. A recipe for a double-orange tart is included.
