Residents of Grand Forks, ND, and East Grand Forks, MN, are still recovering after the devastating floods of 1997 which caused 58,000 people to be evacuated. Roads have been repaved, businesses are reopening and construction has started. Residents discuss life lessons they learning from the flooding.

Death on the mountain

Article Abstract:

Three expeditions reached the summit of Mount Everest in May 1996, but a sudden storm on the way down caused the deaths of eleven people including expedition leader Scott Fisher. The tragedy is an example of how difficult the climb is, and how quickly death can come if the weather turns bad.
