Relaxation rate distributions for supercooled liquids

Article Abstract:

A study on the dynamics of glass-forming liquids and, in particular, the time scale of the alpha relaxation process analyzes new discoveries on glassy dynamics for temperature greater than characteristic temperature. The analysis presents relaxation rate densities for a glassy hard-sphere liquid as described by the mode coupling theory. A rewriting of the mode coupling theory indicates what an alternative hypothesis for the rate distributions in glassy liquids for temperature greater than characteristic temperature has to explain.

Older widows' experience of home care

Article Abstract:

A descriptive phenomelogical method was used to describe the experience of home care for older widows living alone in their own homes. The principal conclusion reveals that for older women who have standby helpers, the essence of home care is sorting, protecting, and mobilizing those helpers and working together with them on tasks necessary to continue living alone at home.
