Boy meets bear

Article Abstract:

Boys are sometimes awed by and unsure of natural features and creatures. Seeing a black bear while on a canoeing trip shows similarity in the reactions of a father and his son. However, while both feel the excitement and fear of the encounter, the son shows more exhilaration than fear.

A father recounts how he and his young son planned to catch a wayward ball hit into the stands during a Major League baseball game. After fumbling one opportunity, both of them were amazed when another ball came their way and this time, he managed to catch it.
