Brice Marden's abstract heart

Article Abstract:

Marden is sometimes called the most gifted abstract painter of his generation. Marden's work was influenced by Robert Rauschenberg in the 1960s, was later inspired by the landscapes of Greece and Thailand in the 1970s and 1980s, and was reinvigorated by Chinese calligraphy in the 1990s.

Oyster day: Thanksgiving may boil down to turkey, but that isn't what the Pilgrims intended

Sandra L Oliver, publisher of 'The Food History News,' says Thanksgiving began as a harvest festival, featuring a variety of meats and other foods. It was not until the 19th century that turkey became a staple of Thanksgiving. Recipes presented include oyster stew and mincemeat pie.
