Article Abstract:

Electric cars have already reached a state of engineering that allows them to compete readily with gas-powered cars. The new designs enable electric cars to go as fast as 60 mph and travel up to 100 miles before needing to be recharged. Unfortunately, their prices are still too high for consumers.

A Boy Scout troop toured the 726-ft high Hoover Dam on the Colorado River and learned about its construction and operation. The dam controls floods on the river, generates electricity and supplies water to Arizona, Nevada and California.

A troop of Eagle Scouts encountered bison, elk, moose and other animals during a winter snowmobile outing in Yellowstone National Park. They hiked to Old Faithful and other geysers and learned about the history of the area.
