Continental rift: Tempelhof Airport's closure symbolizes the chilled relations between Europe and America since the Cold War's end

Article Abstract:

Officials have announced their intention to close 'Tempelhof Airport ' because of it's proximity to downtown Berlin and the preservationists are also fighting to close it because of its storied history of being the common cause of Cold War between America and Europe, 55 years ago. Tempelhof reminds the Europeans and Americans alike of what the transatlantic alliance can achieve when united.

Campaign finance: how loud does money talk?

Soft money is a target of campaign finance reform advocates, but money alone does not guarantee a win on election day. Candidates also need drive, organization, and vision to succeed. However, incumbents often have advantages over their challengers and are more likely to be re-elected if they conduct successful fund-raisers.
