In from the cold

Article Abstract:

A television reenactment of a skier's miraculous rescue after being lost in the Sierra Nevada mountains in heavy snow did not agree with the skier's version of the adventure. He told of losing his way and painstakingly climbing out of a crevasse, exhausted and strangely intoxicated. He only started to feel fear after the second night when his hands and feet showed damage. He was saved by a rescue officer. The TV version focused on the risks the skier had taken.
