Dixie rising

Article Abstract:

The continuing controversy over a clothing line that features a reconfigured Confederate Flag is a reminder that there are many in the South who do not wish to celebrate the region's tortured past. The redesigned flag has black bars and green stars and is a tribute to African-American liberation.

Joy and doubt on the Mall: the Million Man March and me

The Million Man March is an emotional high, one that gives of going home again, a veritable call of the tribe. However, the message is still the cliched sentiments that has been proved to be all sound and fury. Real change has to be built within each individual.

Queen for a day? One woman among the million men

Article Abstract:

There is much that could be said about the leadership of the Million Man March, and much of it negative. But the march itself, the million men who participated in it, is a positive and constructive engagement in confronting the racial issue in the nation.
