Article Abstract:

Veterans are entitled to receive benefits for education. If a veteran is qualified, he may receive up to $350 per month. Financial assistance is also available for their children's college education. Moreover, veterans also receive preference when applying for federal employment.

The new GI bill

Article Abstract:

Senator Dennis D. DeConcini introduced the Desert Storm Servicepersons' Readjustment Act of 1992 to the US Senate. The bill aims to extend veterans education benefits to Desert Storm veterans. The American Legion played an integral part in the drafting of the bill.
