Faith unchained

Article Abstract:

Former Army Master Sargent Roy T. Gordon was captured in North Korea on Dec. 1, 1950. At first he thought he would be killed but eventually he and many other prisoners of war (POWs) were taken to Camp 5. The POWs were subjected to beatings and confinement in a 4-foot hole. The Chinese soldiers tried to get information from the POWs. Gordon became very ill whilst he was a prisoner but in 1953 he was released. His wife, Bette, never believed he was dead. Gordon also fought in the World War II where he was awarded an officers commission, a Bronze Star for valor and Purple Hearts.
