Flag amendment unfurls

Article Abstract:

The Supreme Court allowed the US flag to be burnt as an expression of free speech under the First Amendment in 1989. The Citizens Flag Alliance are supporting the introduction of an amendment to given the flag legal protection. Some leaders of civil liberties groups see the amendment as unnecessary. The American Legion is supporting the amendment and they are hopeful the support of the majority in the House will result in the amendment being passed.

Article Abstract:

Issues relating to reasons for fighting for the American flag are presented. Acts of desecration of the American flag are seen as an insult to the freedom which was hard-fought by members of the American Legion and they wholly oppose any such activities.

Rollie Noble's flag

Article Abstract:

The first American flag raised over a free Europe after Armistice Day 1945 was made by Rollie Noble. It is displayed at the National (US Army) Infantry Museum at Fort Benning, GA. Noble's flag was constructed from a Nazi banner by an Austrian tailor.
