Article Abstract:
The Maratha's Vineyard Commission's (MVC's), created in 1974, purpose is 'the protection of the land and waters' of the vineyard as well as its 'values' against 'development and issues, which would impair them'. A case of Corey Kupersmith, a Connecticut millionaire, who had been fighting the MVC for building a private golf club in the southern woodlands, which is the last large tract of underdeveloped land on Oak Bluffs, is discussed.

Travis Ford does the weather

Ford is popular with daily commuters because of his exuberant friendliness and the weather and sports reports that he recites. He began his signature reports in 1986 and has won many friends, a few TV appearances and articles in local newspapers.
