Article Abstract:

The US needs to rethink its aid program for Russia to effectively institute economic and political reforms in the country. Such a program must emphasize that the former communist republic must shape up or lose American investments, financial aid as well as energy and technology assistance.

The 1997 Nobel Peace Prize selection committee must strongly consider awarding the prize to the US armed forces. More than any humanitarian, the US armed forces has contributed its efforts to further the cause of justice and peace in the world since the 1940s.
