Article Abstract:

NEC has launched a restructuring program centered on the Internet. It also announced a new organizational structure composed of three semi- independent companies. The companies are NEC Solutions, the group's Internet solutions provider; NEC Networks, the implementor of Internet solutions as a network operator; and NEC Electron Devices, the device solutions company that will handle Internet infrastructure and interface/information equipment.

The effects of neural activity on branch formation, were viewed by using the retinotectal pathway in zebrafish as a model system. It is concluded that the activity-based competition between axons in the fish, sets in at an early stage, before the axons have developed a full terminal arbor.
