Like a hole in the head

Article Abstract:

A brain injury suffered by Phineas Gage of Cavendish, VT, in 1848, is examined. Gage had a tamping iron pass through his cheekbone through his brain, and survived. However, his behavior was completely different, and his case is still famous because of what it taught neurologists about brain injuries and behavior.

Benedict Arnold is best remembered in American history as being a traitor during the American Revolution. Bill Stanley, of Arnold's hometown of Norwich, CT, is perhaps Arnold's staunchest defender because of Arnold's superior conduct at the Battle of Saratoga in 1777.
