Lucky Lindy's great adventure

Article Abstract:

Charles Lindbergh flew a monoplane named the Spirit of St Louis from New York to Paris, France, in 1927 to become the first aviator to fly nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean. The trip took 33 1/2 hours and made Lindbergh an international hero.

We scream for ice cream

Ice cream was eaten in the US as long ago as 1789, when it was served to George Washington at a dinner party. Americans eat more than a billion gallons of it every year. Humorous tips for eating an ice cream cone are included.

The missing hero

Article Abstract:

Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat, became a Soviet prisoner after saving as many as 100,000 Jews from Nazi death camps. It is not known whether Wallenberg is alive or dead in 1992, but he has become a 20th-century hero.
