Guidelines for choosing suppliers of management workstations are detailed. Caution is advised because management requirements are not always part of a workstation. Compatibility is essential. Two lines of workstation development are outlined: the intelligent terminal approach and the personal computer approach. Being a fast-changing market, workstation units are available through main system suppliers, independent suppliers, terminal suppliers, and software companies.
