A writer's son received an invitation to a Bar Mitzvah three weeks before the boy was to celebrate his 13th birthday. The boy decided he wanted a Bar Mitzvah, too. So important was the request to his emotional well-being that his mother held a special birthday celebration for him: a 'not Mitzvah.'
