Abdul Salaam Ashou, a resident of the same apartment buildling as two World Trade Center attack suspects, was arrested and deported for a lapsed passport. The two suspects, arrested in Texas with box cutters and cash, had left the Jersey City, NJ, apartment on Sept 10.

Mohamed Atta, one of the terrorists in the World Trade Center attacks, was born in 1968 in an Egypt rife with social upheaval and ripe with Islamic fundamentalism. His recruitment into a terrorist cell, while he was a graduate student in Hamburg, Germany, is described.
