Article Abstract:

Two children of rhythm and blues musician Screamin' Jay Hawkins describe their feelings about their father. One daughter did not know that she was his daughter until she was an adult and she describes meeting him. Another daughter, who knew him when she was young, describes her feelings of abandonment after he left. Hawkins claimed to have fathered 57 children.

An elderly woman was left at the Port Authority in New York, NY, by her daughter because the woman refused to quit gambling. She went to live with her daughter after she lost her savings and her home because of her gambling. She hopes to be reunited with her daughter, whom she has not seen in a year since she was left alone in the city.

A woman returning to the US after visiting her parents is separated from her husband and young child at the Northwest Airlines terminal in Beijing, and held for six months in a jail being interrogated for her suspected connections with mainland Chinese dissidents in the US.
