Schooled by Tony: a bruising lesson in compassion

Article Abstract:

A teacher at an alternative school for disturbed children describes his efforts to reach a teenaged boy called Tony who was labeled behaviorally emotionally handicapped. He finally succeeded when he interacted with the boy on his own physical level.
