Shock and awe: a tactic, not a law firm

Article Abstract:

A number of English constructions arising from the Iraq war are considered, including: 'shock and awe,' which refers to a military assault the overwhelms defenses and crushes the enemy's will; and MOAB, as an acronym for the U.S. arsenal's biggest bomb, the Massive Ordnance Air Blast, dubbed 'Mother of All Bombs' by the press.
