Starving for help

A therapist narrates her experience dealing with women who are suffering from anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa. Women suffering from eating disorders are found to have very low self-esteem and feel that they are not worthy of any food.

Starving for love

Article Abstract:

The case of Becky Israel, who developed anorexia as a teenager, and her mother Lauri, who was also anorexic, is discussed. This is an example of how anorexia could be a learned behaviour transferred from parent to child.
