Suffering silently: for decades, the world's greatest ventriloquist was berated by his dummy

Worsley came to prominence in England during the 1940s, quickly gaining status as the world's best ventriloquist, easily outclassing America's Edgar Bergen. Worsley's hook was to say nothing in his own person, all the while his dummy, Charlie Brown, berated him mercilessly.
