Plastics in the pipeline

Article Abstract:

Pipe materials fall into the categories of metal, clay, concrete, cement-based products, and plastic. Plastic has more advantages in that it is lightweight, flexible, and is produced cheaply and easily. However, experts are concerned about its long-term performance when subjected to high pressure. Suppliers have realized the potential for these products and are establishing manufacturing facilities in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan, and Hong Kong.

The Pentagon's army and navy store

The government, through a Pentagon unit called the Defense Logistics Agency, yearly declares all kinds of military equipment surplus and offers them for sale to the highest bidder. The military equipments, however, are often not demilitarized and get to the hands of criminals.
