Nicols Fox, the author of the book 'Luddite', states that when her clothes dryer stopped working she decided to hang her laundry on the clothesline in the backyard behind her house rather than replacing the dryer and getting puzzled over dryer lingo. However, this action was met with much revolt not only by the neighbors but also by people around the world, when this subject came up during an interview.
