The losing-our-Sovereignty Treaty

Article Abstract:

It is feared that the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) and other forms of 'lawfare' would seriously erode the United State's sovereignty, notably, the freedom of decision-making and action that is very critical to its security and military power as is its formidable arsenal. The U.S. was well served over the past 23 years by remaining outside such an accord and observing those provisions concerning navigation that are consistent with its interests and with customary international law and it should perpetrate this arrangement and thereby protect its ability to assure freedom of the seas and safeguard its sovereignty.
