The morning after independence

Article Abstract:

A letter John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail the day after the Continental Congress voted for independence on Jul 2, 1776, shows that while he was joyous he was also apprehensive about the fate of the new nation. He was troubled by the rapidity of events leading up to the independence vote.

The man who sparked the revolution

Article Abstract:

James Otis is one of the lesser known figures of the American Revolution, but his speeches helped spark the revolt against British rule. An assault by a British officer caused a brain injury that made Otis partially deranged in 1769. He was killed by lightning in 1783.

"Footnotes on the 225th anniversary of the battle of Lexington and Concord"

Article Abstract:

The history of some of the people caught up in the battle of Lexington and Concord, MA, which took place 225 years ago in 1775, is presented. The story of Captain Sam who stood up to the British by himself and despite terrible injuries survived is described.
