The post-Sharpton Sharpton: in a world in which protest politics matters less and less, what's an ambitious protest leader to do?

Article Abstract:

The Rev. Al Sharpton has less influence on the public opinion of key social issues than he once had, but that is due in part to declining interest in political activism. Sharpton's attitudes and his relationship with Jesse Jackson, and his passion for civil rights are examined.

Hurricane of the mind

South Dade County, FL, residents are still cleaning up the mess from Hurricane Andrew, trying to rebuild and overcoming the emotional after-effects one year later. Piles of debris litter the landscape and many who planned to rebuild are still living in make-shift quarters.
