In a world of new threats, domestic safety is critical

Article Abstract:

US policy concerning internal and border security has changed drastically because of the rise in terrorist groups and the September 11, 2001 attacks and hence the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was an important step in making the nation secure. However, it is believed that DHS must be properly funded if it has to achieve its goals.

Veterans deserve training, jobs and places to live

Article Abstract:

The US government should formulate policies that protect the employment and re-employment rights of veterans returning from active duty and thus ease the problems of the homeless veterans. It is also recommended that job training should be provided for unemployed veterans who are victims of corporate restructuring, technology changes or age discrimination.
