Trekking from Scouting's past to present

Article Abstract:

The National Scouting Museum, located in Murray, Kentucky, provides not only exhibitions of scouting artifacts but also provides scouts with the ability to test their outdoor skills. Although the museum centers on scout history there are many high-tech features including a robot who greets visitors.

The world of scouting: this month, Israel

Article Abstract:

The Israel Boy and Girl Scout Federation has a membership of 29,600 and offers membership to boys aged 9 and up and to girls aged 15 and up. Israel is a country of contrasts, given its relatively young age and the many ancient sites in it. Scout troops have names, not numbers.

Paddle happy: the kayaking Sea Monkeys sprint toward the Olympic Games

Article Abstract:

Boy Scouts from Troop 26 in Gainesville, GA, joined the Sea Monkeys and have become national champions and Olympic hopefuls. The Scouts got to meet top athletes during the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and won 58 medals at the latest New York Memorial Day Regatta.
