On the effects of antidumping legislation

Article Abstract:

A model of product differentiation was developed to determine the welfare effects of antidumping laws. Results show that the pricing scheme that firms are allowed to use due to the imposition antidumping legislations greatly influences the nature and extent of international trade. Adoption of bilateral antidumping measures results to transition from an intra-industry trade under market segmentation to a one-way trade, which is advantageous to producers, but not to the consumers.
