Article Abstract:

An increasing number of Iraqi and Afghanistan war veterans are returning home with post-traumatic stress disorder (PSTD) or suffering from some other mental-health condition. Although Veterans Affairs (VA) is capable of treating its current caseload, it is not sure if it has the strategy or resources needed to meet future demands, which have no bounds.

North to Alaska!

Article Abstract:

A team of military personnel representing the American Legion competed in the Armed Forces Eco-Challenge 2001 adventure race in Alaska, placing 12th out of 22 groups. Team members Mary Van Dyke, Stephen Kreis, Michael Dunlavey, and Don Kent faced physical obstacles and unusual challenges including mosquito swarms and constant daylight.

Senator Zell Miller from Georgia credits his decision to join the United States Marine Corps as a turning point in his life. His service in the Marine Corps provided him with a core set of values and educational opportunities. Miller served as Georgia's governor for two terms.
