Creating a European voice in world affairs

Article Abstract:

One of the outstanding issues about the European Union is whether it can rise as an international power and the nature of any power that it will have. It remains to be seen rather European has, or can, unify into an economic and political power to rival the US. The forecasts of various scholars on the future role of the European voice in global affairs are presented.

Co-decision and inter-committee conflict in the European Parliament Post-Amsterdam

Article Abstract:

A demonstration is provided that conflict between committees does take place and that such conflict can seriously weaken European Parliament's position in inter-institutional bargaining. There is evidence that the norms of inter-committee cooperation carefully cultivated under co-decision I.
