Incentive effects of social security on labor force participation: evidence in Germany and across Europe

Article Abstract:

Economic problems generated by an aging population and declining workforce to support the financial burden of pension provisions are examined. It is suggested that the difficulties are partly generated by strong incentives towards early retiring ages across Europe.
